Lie Down

GOOD finds today!

The back of this lovely little album from 1948 says it was 'pre-tested on children'. Tested for entertainment value probably, or maybe the title is a more aggressive suggestion than you thought it was. Either way, this time capsule is wonderful, and repetitive like a dream. But don't fall asleep to it.

The first record in this strange set from Mao's time is spoken propaganda, over warbling strings and the sounds of crying, yes, crying people. To my surprise, the second record was nothing but short, fast-paced, incredibly lovely folk songs. Like this one.

And, well.
